September 5 - 7, 2025!

WRITE TO REGISTER or WITH ANY QUERIES.

A 2.5 day Retreat with Eliza (www.elizabishop.com/about-eliza.html) and Mariana (https://www.salishmaryoga.com/) on the magical San Juan Island at Island Soul Studios (https://www.islandsoulstudios.com/) in an 800 square foot, light-filled, studio room; with daily meditation, Iyengar/Hatha yoga classes, and Kum Nye - Tibetan Healing Yoga sessions.

We encourage each of us to rediscover the openness, fearlessness, and love that is the essence of our own life. Everyone is welcome. Beginners will find a safe environment to go on a yoga and meditation journey while advanced practitioners can further deepen and develop their practice. Ultimately, this is a personal journey, in a collective environment, to practice and evolve into full presence and embodiment.

Please do be in contact. We can schedule a call to answer any questions you may have.

The retreat will begin around 6pm on September 5 and follow with full days on the 6th and 7th approximately 8am - 8pm, with breaks for onsite lunch, an afternoon rest at home or exploration around the island, and sauna time!

With wonderful wishes to each of you,
Eliza and Mariana

More Delightful Details

In this retreat we will practice yoga, which provides an experiential way to examine the habits of the body and mind and to find flexibility and movement within these. Through yoga we can become aware of the imprints of habits on our body and gain the self-knowledge required to prevent injury and preserve health.

Consciously altering our patterns of breathing is amongst the most powerful ways to explore the patterns imprinted on our nervous system, and brings light and clarity to many emotional patterns we hold in the body. Practising pranayama allows us to create both physical and mental space for renewal and change.

Eliza and Mariana will give instructions on awareness of the body for inner discovery and healing. Further, we continue to practice to stabilize our foundation, deepen the body-mind and mind-heart connection, and release tension. With precise and easy-to-follow guidance, we will learn to build each pose from the ground up while tuning into the body-mind, to harmonize movement, breathing, and awareness, to work with your physical "edges" to release stuck emotions, to create strength and well-being—physically and spiritually.

This retreat also includes two simple, delish lunches, on site, at Island Soul Studios, and use of the Infrared Sauna, plus all yoga mats, blocks, belts, chairs, bolsters, blankets, eye-covers, and sand bags are available for your use. There is also the possibility to book a private massage, for an added fee, just across from the studio.

This retreat does not include travel to the island or overnight accommodation. There are hotels, airbnb's, and bed and breakfasts, which are within walking distance to Island Soul Studios. If you drive a car, there is ample parking at Island Soul Studios for you. I can recommend some wonderful spots upon request.

Price: $680
If you book and pay before March 30, 2025, there is also a 10% discount, making it $599.

There is one "work/study" place on this retreat, which affords a 50% discount off the entire retreat, making it $350. It involves some basic sweeping of the studio, simple cleaning after the lunches, and assisting the instructors with a few tasks.

Retreats are wonderful spaces for personal reflection and renewal. Knowing this we would like to encourage you to invite a family member or other loved one to join you on this retreat, and enjoy the experience of space, movement and renewal together.

Join us in the abundance and beauty that the shoulder season brings to Island Soul, and open your mind to awaken your heart.

With Warmth,
Eliza and Mariana

Biographies:

Eliza Bishop is a certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor
https://iynaus.org/, Tibetan Healing Yoga Teacher https://nyingmainstitute.com/, Meditation Guide, Lecturer, Writer, and Editor for the Namchak Translation Committee https://namchakpublishing.com/collections/books specializing in sacred texts.
She's been practicing for 20 years and teaching for 12. She lived 3 years in India and studied with the Iyengar family in Pune and Swati and Rajiv Chanchani of Yog-Ganga, with whom she still makes regular retreats. She also met her Tibetan Buddhist teachers at this time, His Holiness Sakya Trinzin the 41st, The Dalai Lama, and Jetsun Tenzin Palmo.

As a Tibetan Buddhist and Yoga practitioner for twenty years, who has studied extensively in
India and Europe, and now resides in North America, sharing her time between Canada and the
USA. She appreciates and shares these modalities as tools for developing the mind of the heart. She has given accredited courses in universities, 6-week webinars to Superior Court Judges, a team of Book Publishers, Social Workers, and numerous other organizations.

Her approach is person centered with a focus on the inner healing and greater well-being that naturally occurs by expanding one’s ability to be fully embodied and present. The aim is to learn to be at ease – with on-the-spot presence – which is healing and awakening, simultaneously, for one’s self and others. She works globally, online, and in person, with annual retreats
For Eliza, the art of teaching means bringing human beings into an asana with complete involvement of body, mind, and breath, creating awareness that allows one, eventually, to study the mind. In this way the yogic and Buddhist paths merge into one and have solidified a life long path for Eliza. Yoga is for every body and can teach us all that we ultimately belong to the same family. Eliza teaches annual retreats in Europe and North America, this is the second retreat on the magical San Juan Island.

Mariana’s own practices and teachings focus on the 8 Limbs of Yoga
https://www.salishmaryoga.com/ . Starting with the way you treat others and yourself, moving through asanas (physical postures) and pranayama (breathwork) to free the mind and the senses, find concentration and stillness, so that one can access their inner peace and bliss. She aims to facilitate this experience for her students in every class and encourages them to move beyond the confinements of the material world.

She received her first Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) in Thailand in 2019 and years later obtained additional training to be able to teach breath work under the guidance of the same instructor. Mariana traveled to India in 2023 to complete her second YTT and embark on her 2-year journey towards completing her Yoga Therapy Certification. She strongly believes in the transformational and healing power of yoga and hopes to share with her students the principles of positivity, acceptance, love, and compassion the practice brings her.

Mariana, with the help of her friends, started Flow Collective in 2022, a donation-based community yoga space that she manages and teaches at, in hopes of providing accessible yoga to her community. She has been teaching on the islands since 2019, leading group classes, catering to private clients and participating in special events. She has also worked and ran retreats in Sri Lanka for the past two years.
